About Cafe Rocco
Cafe Rocco began life when its animal spirits - Janet (human) and Rocco (cat) - became irritated by the irrational exuberance
of the mid-noughties (or naughties), and thought they would have some fun of their own at the expense of others.

The product of this collaboration by two political animals was a satirical blog entitled Janet Rocco: http://janetrocco.blogspot.com
Janet also has a long-standing interest in The Arts and wider cultural issues, and Rocco naturally likes to comment on the feline world, so the scope of their mutual blog widened as time went on.

Eventually, a joint decision was taken to acquire new premises for this new enterprise, and what better place to set up shop than Cafe Rocco, to create a cultural salon both traditional and modern.

When not here, Janet can be contacted at her other places of work - see www.greenman-projects.co.uk -
and Rocco is usually to be found relaxing somewhere.

Indeed, we have extended our services to include health and wellbeing, and particularly recommend the restorative power of laughter.
Cafe Rocco is host to the creative and diverse business of Janet Rocco. We offer:

Writing on The Arts, Culture & Entertainment
Janet has an MA in English Literature, although this qualification might well have been Media Studies had she arrived on the scene more recently. The Arts, culture and entertainment tend, therefore, to be viewed from a literary perspective, but by no means exclusively so. Radio and the New Media are important to us too.

We are obviously very interested in the enduring cultural role of animals, and particularly cats, both in so-called serious art and popular entertainment. This interest extends to the subject of communication between animals and people.

The benefits to human health of companion animals are now widely recognised, and we believe in the importance not only of culture to social wellbeing, but also in “The Healing Arts”. We have a broad definition of these to include: ethical and sustainable design; the comic arts, including satire; healing aesthetics; and arts-based therapies.

Laughter is often described as one of the best medicines, and Janet Rocco’s blog http://janetrocco.wordpress.com asks the reader to keep this in mind.

However, we also have a serious side, and Boris’s Bookshelf reflects this. http://boris-books.blogspot.com
